Our Story
Dianna and I met when we were kids, and over the years our lives grew together. We have now been together for more than half of our lives and married for 19 years. Through every stage—growing up, building a family, and navigating life’s challenges—we have always believed in the importance of connection, resilience, and support.
Today, we are entering a new chapter. We have three incredible children: our 21-year-old son who is out exploring the world, our 18-year-old son who recently moved to Colorado for college, and our 16-year-old daughter who is nearing the end of high school. As our home begins to shift toward becoming an empty nest, we find ourselves reflecting on the journey that brought us here and the ways we want to give back.
There was a time in our own lives and marriage when we needed support, but accessing help wasn’t easy. Financial instability and the lack of healthcare coverage created real barriers. We knew we needed help, but it simply wasn’t accessible in the ways we needed it to be. That experience stayed with us.
Those moments shaped the heart behind Foundational Roots Therapy and Consulting. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care—especially during the times when life feels most overwhelming.
Opening this private practice has been a dream we have talked about for years, and now the time finally feels right. Our hope is to create a space where people feel supported, understood, and welcomed. A place where individuals, couples, and families can find care that is both compassionate and accessible.
At Foundational Roots Therapy and Consulting, our goal is to make mental health services as affordable and accessible as possible. To help make that a reality, we offer sliding scale options and pro bono openings for low-income families. We believe that financial barriers should never stand in the way of someone receiving the support they need.
This work is deeply personal to us, and we are honored to walk alongside those who trust us with their stories.
